2. Central Calcutta Polytechnic:
Central Calcutta Polytechnic is a government polytechnic college in the city of Kolkata, West Bengal in India. It is affiliated with the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education, approved by All India Council for Technical Education and provides diploma level technical education to its students. At the time of foundation in 1963, Central Calcutta Polytechnic was a sponsored institute with two other institutes: Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, and National Institute for Technical Teachers Training & Research. The government of West Bengal took over the Institute in 1974. The Polytechnic offers diploma courses in mechanical, electrical, electronics & telecommunication, and computer science engineering. It also conducts post-diploma courses in medical electronics. These courses are recognised by AICTE and WBSCTE.

3. North Calcutta Polytechnic:
North Calcutta Polytechnic was established in 1986 and is affiliated to West Bengal State Council of Technical Education, approved by UGC and recognised by AICTE, New Delhi and NAAC. It offers courses in polytechnic and also focuses on extra-curricular activities for overall development of students. With its state of the art infrastructural facilities and lush green campus, the students get an ambient atmosphere to study. It focuses on providing premier education and promoting higher education among youth by providing scholarships to under-privileged students. It has a ragging free campus and friendly atmosphere.

This polytechnic is affiliated to the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education, and recognised by AICTE, New Delhi. This polytechnic offers diploma courses in Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunication, Mechanical and Civil Engineering.

Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray Polytechnic is a polytechnic college located in the city of Kolkata, West Bengal of India, alongside the campus of Jadavpur University. It is affiliated to the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education (WBSCTE), approved by All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) and provides Diploma level technical education to its students. The college is named after the scientist Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray.There is no hostel facility.

8. Darjeeling Polytechnic College:
The Darjeeling Polytechnic, which is located in Kurseong Sub Division, was established in the year 1964 and presently is the only Polytechnic offering Diploma Engineering courses in the two Hill Districts (Darjeeling and Kalimpong) of West Bengal. It was established to cater to the needs of aspiring students from the Hills of West Bengal who wanted to study engineering but did not have the financial means to leave their homes , move to far flung places and get educated. In the course of 54 years of its establishment the Institute has surely achieved more than what it was meant to be. Students have successfully completed their Diploma education in the fields of Civil, Electrical and Computer engineering and got themselves established in the Government as well as Private sectors. As a matter of fact most engineers working in different departments in the Hill Districts are invariably an alumnus of Darjeeling Polytechnic. This highlights the role the Institute had played for local students and it has lived upto all its glory.

K.G. Engineering Institute, established in 1922, is one of the oldest government polytechnic located at the heart of Bishnupur in Bankura district, W.B.. This institute was established as a small Industrial School set up in 1922. Later it was converted to a full-fledged polytechnic in 1949. This polytechnic is affiliated to the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education, and recognised by AICTE, New Delhi. 10. Malda Polytechnic College:
Malda Polytechnic is the one of the oldest Government Polytechnic colleges of West Bengal, India under the Department of Technical Education & Training, Government of West Bengal. This College offers diploma courses in 5(five) streams of Engineering conducted by West Bengal State Council of Technical Education. This college was established in 1962 in the form of a Govt. Sponsored Polytechnic and subsequently it became a Government Polytechnic. It is an elite Institute of Malda District with the maximum percentage of placement in Government and Private sectors. This college has a strong infrastructure consisting of well equipped and spacious laboratories, workshops, library, audio-visual cell, training and placement cell etc. This polytechnic is affiliated to the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education, and recognised by AICTE, New Delhi.
